For years I photographed the vast French countryside, searching for the ultimate imagination of space. Now the gaze lieth toward the detail. In the series 'Closer' I went in search of beauty in decay, the phases during the post-peak, past its prime: overblown, wrinkled, withered, shriveled, moldy, rotten.
Also, the closer to the detail, the narrower the focus.
